Trade Stocks on Twitter? August 13, 2008

Covestor has announced that you can now link your stock trade information to your Twitter account.  “When you execute a trade with your broker, you can now keep your followers on Twitter up to date,” says the Covestor blog.  Once you link your Covestor account to Twitter, Covestor will automatically send the details of the trade to your Twitter account.  Users will be able to see the action (bought or sold), the stock price and your rationale, if you offered one.

It will be interesting to see if people use this feature.  With Twitter’s growing popularity, could this greatly effect swings in the market?  If your friends’ trades were public information, would it influence your trades?  I guess it depends on who it is…
